Man UTD fans are melting away
on attempting a bit of a gloat, it amuses me how many friends are answering they've given up on supporting them.. What a bunch of spinless glory hounds! funny though.

I saw Karl Pilkington was doing the tips with Lawro on the bbc website last week.
Reckons he was a Man City fan as a kid then switched to Man U in the 1990’s.
The current state of play is KARMA.
He was wondering if he could switch back but didn’t think he’d get away with it.

I live in Brighton and know a few that have switched allegiance from Man Utd the last couple of seasons, declaring they don't know why they supported them in the first place.

Think the other ones were in London though including a famous one where we donated some beer bottles to hurry them up

Re: Man UTD fans are melting away
Russ... deffo stems from when they stopped playing Friday nights and moved to Saturday's... they went from decent Friday night crowds mainly as all the local Hammers, Spurs, CFC, Goons etc would watch them before going to see the proper football the next day... of course their crowds almost halved .... used to do a few Friday night games and never had a problem... but I suppose a bit like our Full on Spurs rivalry it's all very recent...

They fucking hate us to a man. Jealousy makes a person very bitter.

And the real hard core Southend hate anyone from Southend that supports West Ham. Spitting blood when they meet them.

Re: Man UTD fans are melting away
Loads of Sunderland supporters don't live in Sunderland - I've caught trains South packed with them when they've just played at home.

TBF, Southern accents are a rarity among them.

A Work MATE is a Red Manc... used to run all the coaches from this area and fair play to him and his mob they used to go absolutely everywhere... and I mean everywhere... I think at one stage in a 15 year cycle he had missed 5 games and that included all european and friendlies (US Asia etc) ... and he even has an answer for when you chuck `Glory Hunter' at him as he reckon he started supporting them when they got relegated to Div 2... Ha Ha Ha !!!

When there is a conversation about football and somebody say the support Man Utd, I always say I can't talk about football with you unless you were born within a 15 mile radius of The Theatre of Scumbags

The easiest way to highlight their shallowness is to ask them who they support internationally and why don't they apply the same logic to their choice of club side.

Don't forget southend fans are bitter twats. They used to hate that 50% of their Friday night crowd was made up of west ham fans j uat wanting to see some football.

Moat west ham fans barely notice southend utd exists.

My family are glory hunting West Ham fans - we had a choice of West Ham or Leyton Orient.

We’re the least successful glory hunters of all time.

Re: Man UTD fans are melting away
I'm Welsh but spent my formative years (5 - 10) living in Redbridge and my step father at the time took me to see us (mostly the stiff's games as he was a cheap cunt). The moment I saw Hurst, Moore and Peters in the flesh, I was hooked.

I remember also really liking Clyde Best because he was black, which was highly unusual back then. Well, that and he used to score a shit load of goals.
